The beginning

It began with a bottle, and a friendship

Our love of wine grew quietly, the way the best things do. Just before we moved to Oregon in 2013, we discovered there was a whole world behind the label, and in 2014, a winemaker

named Bertony Faustin opened the door to it. What began as an education became a friendship, and what became a friendship became family.

When life brought us home to Georgia, we carried that with us: a belief that wine is best when there’s a story behind it and someone to share it with. The Whispered Cellar is how we bring those bottles, and that feeling, to the people we love and the state we call home.

MEET THE Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Justin Johnson

Relationships first, always.

Justin believes we go further together, and he leads The Whispered Cellar the way he builds every relationship: with care, intention, and people first. He brings more than thirteen years of guiding multi-million-dollar projects in technology, and that same strategic discipline now shapes the wines he champions, the winemakers he partners with, and the allocations he secures for those in the know.

His path into wine began in Oregon in 2013, where a 2014 introduction to winemaker Bertony Faustin grew into something closer to family. That friendship taught him the story behind the bottle.

Andrea Johnson, PhD

The warmth and the rigor behind every gathering.

Andrea shapes the experiences that turn a bottle into an evening worth remembering, the curation, the hospitality, and the quiet logistics behind every pour. A researcher in human centered computing, she has spent her career making spaces more inclusive and learning to read a room so that everyone in it feels seen. She brings that same gift to the table.

Her love of wine grew alongside Justin’s, deepened by the family they found in winemaker, Bertony Faustin, in 2014. Back home in Georgia, she built a platform to honor those roots, narrative-driven hospitality for the Southeast, where every pour is an invitation and every guest is

welcomed exactly as they are.
